Alexus Liles began therapy with Leah Gore, MOT, OTR/L, CBS, in 2021 at which time she was dependent on her G-tube for nutrition. She would gag any time food touched her lips. Now she is no longer on a pump for her feedings throughout the day and she is able to eat without gagging and vomiting. Alexus initially had no sucking reflex and is now able to drink with a straw. Mom says, “therapy had a very big impact on Alexus’s life. She went from having a terrible gag reflex to eating whole meals and whatever she wants and drinking 3 supplemental drinks via straw.” She goes on to say that Alexus is always happy and very excited when they arrive to the Pro Step Therapy office and that she loves her therapist. As a parent, Alexus’s mom feels that seeing her child eat a meal and drink without reaction is the best feeling in the world. Alexus will continue Occupational Therapy treatments with Pro Step Therapy and continue her progress until the rest of her functional goals and milestones are met.
Thank you Liles family for trusting the team here at Pro Step Therapy with your therapy needs!

Ade Johns began speech therapy with Pro Step Therapy when he was 2 years old. At the beginning, Ade was completely non verbal, he did not have play skills, he would simply put toys in his mouth as if he didnt know what to do with them, and he did not know how to communicate with sign language at all. Ade’s mom says “since we have been going to see the Pro Step team, Ade has excelled in so many ways; he signs, eats food that he never ate before, and his play skills have gotten tremendously better. He loves his therapists and gets excited every time we enter the building.” Ade’s mom goes on to say that both therapists give her every resource she needs for Ade and her life has become easier since starting their journey here at Pro Step Therapy. Ade will continue working with his speech therapy team and continue making improvements with his communication, problem solving skills, social skills, and so much more!
Avery Bolton started with Pro Step Therapy at 11 years old. She began weekly sessions with Lindsay Lane, DPT to address idiopathic toe walking. At the beginning of services, Avery was unable to stand with her feet flat on the floor. She was seen for physical therapy for 6 months before Lindsay referred them to an orthopedic to discuss a more aggressive intervention. Following this consultation, Avery had surgery to lengthen her achilles tendons, followed by 8 more months of physical therapy after her procedure. Avery graduated from therapy in June, 2024, at which time she was finally able to walk and stand comfortably with functional range of motion.
Avery’s mom, Angela, states “Avery and Lindsay had a very good relationship and Avery always felt comfortable coming to her with any questions or issues”. As a parent, Angela says “I am so grateful we were referred to Pro Step Therapy and for everything Lindsay has done for us. Avery was able to recover from her surgery well. Pro Step helped me better understand what issues she was going through and why. I was better able to assist her at home.” She goes on to explain Avery had to relearn skills like walking and standing and Lindsay was able to tailor treatments to help Avery achieve her goals.
Thank you, Bolton family, for trusting Pro Step with your physical therapy needs. It was an honor to work with Avery and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors!
